Sleepovers

Last Friday, we had the first (of I'm sure many) sleepover! Mason's friend Mary came over late afternoon to spend the night. Our first order of business was dinner, so Mary, Mason, Kate and I headed to Tony's Pizzeria for a yummy dinner of pizza and spaghetti. Tedd was on his way home from Charleston/Columbia so he only managed to join us at the very end. It was quite entertaining to sit there with 2 five-year-olds and a four-year-old. The conversation was interesting to say the least! Poor Kate (or Kake, as Mary's little brother, Nick, calls her) wanted nothing more than to play with Mason and Mary. Honestly, Mary & Kate have always played well together - their personalities are more similar! We wanted to give the M&M girls some time to play by themselves so Tedd took Kate for a long bath where she had fun playing in the bubbles. Once she was out & in her PJ's, M&M were very gracious and let her play with them. They spent an hour in the playroom dressing up, pretending to be things they weren't and making a royal mess! In the picture, take note of their PJ's - they swapped out tops & bottoms so they were mis-matched with each others' PJs! We attempted putting the M&M girls to bed about 9:00, knowing that it would take a while for them to settle down and get to sleep. Each time we went in there they were in a different bed than the time before. We have 2 double beds in that room and Mary brought her sleeping bag. Sometimes they were both in one bed...other times they were spread out. It was definitely a case of Musical Beds!

The girls got up Saturday morning and Tedd fixed them Chocolate Chip pancakes, which I believe they inhaled. I was lucky enough to get to sleep in a little so I missed the whole breakfast thing! They girls played all morning and were having a great time when Mary's parents came to pick her up right before lunch. Mary was not at all happy about having to leave - there were tears and everything. That, of course, made us feel great, but I'm not sure it made her parents too happy! Although they were glad she had a great time on someone else's turf. We're ready for the next sleepover. Both M&M say they want to spend 2 nights at each other's houses next time! Only time will tell...
